Climate change played a major role in the further deterioration of water supply in the region as ongoing heat waves led to more frequent droughts as well as an increased demand for water.

Water resources are rapidly shrinking and decreasing in the Middle East region, where many people struggle to gain access to clean safe water.Countries like Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

In order to address this issue many countries in the Middle East region resorted to the implementation of water conservation measures such as promoting the use of water efficient technologies and minimizing water loss thus contributing to more mindful water usage.
