2024 Lebanon pagers explosions

 The term Pagers refers to a wireless telecommunication device used to display and receive autophonic messages.This device can be broken down to two types: one way pagers are only able to receive messages and two pages that can receive and transmit messages too.

Pagers are well known for durability and robustness as they are able to withstand various weather conditions; they are built to function in different environments; these devices have been developed over the years and their manufacture dates back to 1950.

Thanks to their durability and neatly developed technology,pagers have been chosen as the go-to telecommunication device for many military groups in the world, most notably Hezbollah, a Lebanese military group whose some of their members were the victims of thousands of pagers’ explosion.The explosion wave killed more than 9 people among them a 9 years old and injured thousands, the blasts took place particularly in areas where Hezbollah groups have strong presence in southern Beirut suburbs and in the Baqa region of eastern Lebanon as well as in Damasus.

The explosion came after Israel’s internal security agency said it had successfully foiled an assassination attempt by Hezbollah to kill a former security official.Many people suffered serious and critical injuries, in the overwhelmed hospitals in the regions wounded were rushed out on stretches, some with missing limbs some have half of their faces blown away some,Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani was among those wounded.

One of the main motives for Hezbollah for using Pagers instead of cellphone is to prevent any form tracking and to protect their privacy, as regular cell phones are more prone to getting intercepted.the pagers used by Hebollah members were manufactured in Taiwan by Gold Apollo company, right after the incident the taiwanese police interrogated the company’s ceo bout the devices’ detonation.

Lebanese officials stated that the insidious pagers’ attack will not go unpunished and Hezbollah military groups vowed to avenge their fallen members and innocent citizens.
